A couple of quick questions

1. Why isn't copyright automatically implicated when you tag a character?
2. Can we have tags for picture orientation? There are 'landscape' and 'portrait' tags, but they are used for completely different purposes.

1. It'd be tons of work implicating thousands of characters, for not a lot of benefit. People rarely forget to tag copyrights.

2. Try ratio searches, e.g. ratio:>16:9, ratio:<0.75, etc. See help:cheatsheet and help:imagesize and help:number syntax.

Short form - there are characters who have the same appearance across multiple series that may have no relationship to each other, and we don't want to set the expectation that you never have to tag copyrights.

One example that comes to mind is Takamichi Nanoha. Do you tag her with Triangle Heart 3, Magical Lyrical Girl Nanoha, Nanoha A's, StrikerS, or the Movie Nanoha which spins off from A's? Her appearance is different in StrikerS or its spinoff series, and the we get into the Brave Duel continuity.

How about Shiranui Mai appears in both Final Fight as well as King of Fighters - which copyright do you tag? Both, even when the picture is a Final Fight reference? Or with Roselia, do you tag the Super Mario series, or the specific spinoff she appears in? Heck, there's Mega Man/Rockman. Which series do you tag him with, especially as he's got the classic games and Mega Man Battle Network? The X series has its own Mega Man character tag, but do we need to keep splitting them given that he shares he same appearance in both the classic games as well as MMBN?

It's a complete mess, a lot of work on the server (implications aren't free - each lookup in the background costs CPU cycles), and of questionable benefit when we're already holding taggers and uploaders to a specific standard (tag what you see, I'd you're not sure, ask with a copyright_request tag after doing some searching as the tags should let you find something as long as other people tagged what they saw).
