Personally I don't like kai-yan's faces so that covers 4/5 images. The sense of scale in the first one is a little weird too. The third one I can't quite put my finger on but there's something not quite right about it.

3rd one is probably the legs. They are very long, about 1.5 times as long as it should be given average anatomical size. If you're going to make it long, you have to exaggerate it like Kim Hyung Tae.

Just curious as to why this didn't pass, there's nothing exceptionally wrong with the picture and the composition with Akagi and Kaga is decently done as well.

Narrative wise it provides another artist's impressions on how the fairies work with the ship girls on sortie.

Technicality wise, the artist demonstrates a strong proficiency with the graphite medium, I mean, look at those neat hatching lines. A good sense of line weight also helps to emphasize form and values.

It's well drawn but I feel like there's a number of people who will go "one page of this was approved so I have a greenlight to upload the whole thing and I can appeal it with 'part of a series' if it's not approved."

I went through the artist's newest doujins and selectively uploaded pages that had a good composition in them and were more or less on the non-explicit side, if we do go under the assumption with the "part of a series" appeal, technically post #2062332 and post #2062334 could have the rest of their series uploaded.

Although I agree with not making Danbooru a doujin/comic repository I still think that it'd be a shame for, as you said, well drawn, image to be unapproved on speculation that it would become an upload count buff.

Ultimately, the doujins were scanned clean and illustrated with the same quality as the posts listed and would probably pass the approval process. I admit I'd be against this myself as page by page, not all pages were an interesting composition in itself.

Just think of them as manga samples.

post #2080214. I'm under the impression it's pretty decent in terms of quality, and it does belong to a relatively minor fandom (here on Danbooru at least) but I'm not sure whether to appeal it or let it sit.

I'd say it passes technically (technique-wise)(It's a pretty cool image to be honest), but as you've mentioned, it's a rather small fandom, and even more so, the image is male-dominated. Those don't tend to do too well if they aren't traps, if I recall. Most users wait till becoming Contributors to upload male-dominated images (Such as the Jojo series), so it's up to you whether you want to appeal based on artistic merit or not.

Well, the last two I uploaded got through within a day, though that may have been by virtue of discovering an artist (that wasn't technically a new discovery, but I put a name to them at least) so my thought is this may have just been an off week for that fandom.

I made a new thread not knowing there was a central thread for this since it isn't stickied. I was directed to post here instead, so here's a copy paste of my post:

I don't have the most trained artistic eye, but to me that looks like a pretty high quality image. I can't see any glaring anatomical errors and there's a lot of detail. I would like to hear the opinion of a moderator, if I may. It was apparently reviewed by 11 moderators before it was deleted and I'm quite saddened by such a fine image not getting approval from any of them. I've seen lesser images being approved without problem.

Never do that again. It's an unwritten rule. Or was it actually a written rule?

As for the image, it's more or less what the automatic feedback suggests - not bad but not really good either, and none of the approvers was specifically interested. There are some details made better than average and a few shaky ones but overall it's just ok art. You can try to appeal it if you feel very confident about it, but I personally wouldn't approve it either

Odd shading, very poorly drawn 'turret' (technically a casemate) on the tank destroyer, background looks copy-pasted, but what sticks out the most to me are Erika's fingers.

I know this thread is for own not approved posts but I need an answer why this was deleted and resolved: post #1374797
Attention, it's hentai which is an difficult theme at its own but there is definetly nothing wrong with this image.

Why is this not approved? You want to know why I think that's unfair? Here:

  • You know who it is, even though (or because?) it's a close-up.
  • It's very detailed and by an very good, well-known ecchi artist. (Though this here is very explicit).
  • Plus, colouring, shading, body, hair, everything is excellent, definetely not average.

There is no reason to not keep this here. A small fanbase (YU-GI-OH!) should not be an excuse in terms of quality. Come on guys, seriously?

It's badly drawn. The fingers are spread out to an impossible degree, the butt crack curves upward to become the posterior median furrow, uninterrupted and just as deep. Nothing in the picture looks any more than an inch closer to or further from the camera than anything else.

I see what you mean wth the fingers and the butt crack, thanks for telling! It's definetely not perfect.
Still, I think the rest is fine, especially colouring and shape make it up.

Art is neither specifically good nor specifically bad, but just a butt with a bunch of dicks doesn't present a lot of artistic interest. If all he's gonna draw is a single body part, he could at least do it well
