Is something wrong with the quality of this one?

I would hazard that it wasn't bad, but more towards mediocre. The quality is okay, but the composition is very boring and the image (imo) lacks charm. If it wasn't a bust shot, but rather a cowboy shot, I think it would've been a bit better.

The Pixiv version of this image was probably chosen over the Twitter version because the JPEG artifacts are a little more noticeable on the Twitter version. Personally, I try to avoid uploading JPGs from Twitter because Twitter seems to automatically lower picture quality after the artist posts in order to save space. (For various technical reasons, this problem doesn't affect PNG files.)

Low quality ero, currently even cheap H-games tend to have better art inside

Just curious to see what was wrong with these so I can avoid posting like kind in the future.

First one is kinda plain and not interesting.
Second is.. ok for me. Similar, already accepted arts done by the same author seem to confirm it.
Unfortunately none of mods support that notion... though the question is how many mods exactly did decide here against it and by how many of them it was simply overlooked (which happens often than one would like to admit)
Anyway, I suggest an appeal.

A very good explanation is that a lot of those are mediocre, and some are just bad. They don't use a wide range of tones, which would be fine if their form were good to make up for it. Like in that wehrmacht image post #1977705, the stark contrast between the shaded and textured shirt and the practically single-tone skin really stands out in a bad way.

Or that arashio post #1573347, where the navel takes up the whole abdomen and is just totally weird.

They're both below average, technically. On the first image, instead of drawing folds on the clothes, they shadow them on willy nilly. It wouldn't be a problem if the folds were in the middle, but they're on the side and originating from nowhere.

On the second, it's bad coloring. The huge difference in gradient on the hug pillow makes it look like it's glowing, as well as a myriad of minor problems such as the strap positioning of her camisole, the elbow lines going straight around the whole arm on both sides, a complete lack of knowledge on cast and form shadows, and which one is hard and which one is soft, etc etc.

Edit: On further examination, in image 1, it appears that though the sunlight is coming from the above-front, the back of her hair facing her back is still lit up, showing that the artist doesn't understand lighting, either.

I wouldn't approve them, and I'd probably delete them on Kona, for not being upto scratch anatomically.

As for my deleted that I don't see why were not approved... that'd be a massive list.
