In Gensokyo, it's only considered polite to make friends after lobbing apocalyptic magics at each other.

It might be the first time anyone has been able to defend against Gungnir (though who can say about Flan for this Remi?)... No reason why she wouldn't try to enlist someone so clearly capable.

for some reason after i read this i started thinking up a devil went down to georgia gensokyo version. it went something like:
"The devil went down to the village, she was lookin for a soul to steal, she was trying to find, bored out of her mind, a girl to make a deal. when she came across this young girl woopin on some youkai and playin it hot, then the devil walked down to the little girls frown and said "girl let me tell you what. i bet you didn't know it but i'm a scarlet devil see, and if you care to take a dare, then make a bet with me. now you fight pretty big demons girl but give the devil this due. to the village i'll go, and i'll take your soul, lest you think i ain't better than you." the girl said "my name's meiling and it might be a sin, but i'll take your bet, and i might regret, but there ain't a lot better than me." little girl steady up your stance and stare the devil hard, cause hell's broke lose inside the forest and the devil plays the cards, and if you win you save the village and your soul, but if you lose the devil gets em' both~.
(music) the devil gave a mighty grin and said "it's my turn here." and fire flew from her fingertips as she hefted up her spear, and she pulled the spear behind her head and it gave an evil HISS! then a band of demons joined in, it sounded something like this.
(music~~~) when the devil threw it, meiling said, "well you're pretty good you old gun, but i've got a strive to protect this land and i'll fight until i'm done!"
(original chorus) the devil saw her deflect the spear and only stood in awe, but she came to and realised she knew what she just saw, she wandered over to the girl and held her hand out for all to see, and said "i'll leave the village if you make a devils deal with me, you told me once young girl you did, you're as good as most can be."
(chorus and end)

...is it perfect? of course not. it's hella long though and i like it. i have a freedom of speech.
