I thought Mami was highschool aged. I have no real basis for that belief, though.

Regarding drinking ages, the lowest I've known is 16 (other than places with no restriction). I checked Wikipedia to confirm. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legal_drinking_age

Mami is one year older than the rest of the Puella Magi; she's of the ninth grade.
