i would bet that naruto was probably trying to stab sasuke with his kunai knife, then sakura tried to hit naruto to prevent him from doing that when suddenly she accidentally misses only to hit sasuke

What basically should have happened so long ago, but due to Kishimoto logic if you have a vagina, there is little you can do but stay on the sidelines and hope to get a rare chance at being important before a male character takes it from you.
