She clearly beat it badly enough that it's retreated for now. As to the comic, she probably got the idea after re-reading a manga that described a similar scenario.
A scenario involving evil dopplegangers and an ethereal invader,in which the protagonist used PSI powers, or as Meiling calls it, 'qi', to kill the invader. That's right, Meiling's danmaku are actually mind bullets.
