This image remains funny even after every time I've glanced at it in the past hour or so, it just gets me. Ah, in 8 more days, my Haruhi drought will be over - this comic has been very entertaining, though. Has anyone ever hard translated it?
Sooooo, rather than fixing history, she just overrode it completely? Typical Haruhi...The author is really something. But all of this is making me think that if Haruhi ever decided to conquer the world, she would be just like Big Brother from 1984 except with god powers....Oh gawd...

I personally doubt it. As much of a horrid little brat as Haruhi can be, she's not genuinely evil, and a totalitarian state where no one can question authority (even if it was her authority) or risk torture and even death, would be abhorrent to her. Even if she made so that everyone willingly obeyed her without question, she'd quickly grow bored with it. There's a reason she likes Kyon best even though he's the one who always puts up the most resistence to her schemes (and he even occasionally bosses her around). A world ruled by one person's will would basically be stagnant and relatively unchanging. Even with her godlike powers to spice things up by adding anything she wants, she'd grow bored of everyone being her lackey.
Remember the Murder Mystery Island episode? Kyon knew that nobody had really been killed and that it had to be a set-up (the mystery had been set up by Itsuki and his fellow espers), because even if Haruhi's powers had reacted to her subconcious desire for a mystery to solve, she's too inherently good a person to truly wish for someone to die just so she could have an adventure. Itsuki himself even admitted he was surprised that Kyon ultimately had more faith in Haruhi than he did. She is a good person, deep down, just horribly spoiled, because things always subconciously go her way.

Tis a fair point. She was willing to remake the world of course but in that case I doubt she considered that anyone would be hurt by it.
