Nah, its just the camera in the last panel. Ran's tails must have some starch in them if they are so stiff they wont even sway while shes flying.

Also, i hope this becomes a series. I want more!

Ran's a Kitsune. They grow a tail every hundred years up to 9 so it makes sense that she loses tails when she becomes younger.

No, the *one* tail she has now isn't showing in the last panel, when it's shown in the second and third panels.

It's just behind her back.
