    Survival of the fittest.

I really like this pic even if it does have guts every which way xD Especially the people on the right corner. Yeah, don't want the little child to see that... I'd hide her too!

I also like how the artist really showed some perspective here with giantdino and littlepeople. Good thing humans didn't live in the dinoage!

Honestly? If we did, I don't even think we'd be around for long, unless we were just that unfulfilling for a creature of that size. Then again, whales live on mostly plankton...

Our tiny rodent ancestors managed, I'm sure we could too.

They survived BECAUSE they were tiny...

The one thing worse than a MH trying to kill a dinosaur is a MH trying to kill a dinosaur in the middle of his meal.

Compared to that high-rise sized monstrosities, we're probably rodent-sized.

Humans would have kicked the asses of the dinosaurs. We would have had spears and arrows, and hunting parties of twenty to fifty guys. Those beat the shit out of big animals. We know this, because it happened. We used to eat mastodons and shit, remember?

Plus, we're not competing with the larger, equally pack-hunting raptors too... which can still consider us food. And unless we happen to have some tar pits nearby, the larger dinos can still get out of our pit traps.

Going by the size of that dino, do you seriously believe a group of guys with six foot long pointy sticks are going to kill it? "Hey there, please stand still while we stab you to death with these toothpicks."

It isn't C&C where you can restore your losses in a few minutes, it takes some 12-15 years before you get a new guy for the one that you lost to that T-Rex. Thus, the safest option was to go after the herbivores, which the smaller carnivores did.

Worked on the mammoths. All of them.

You don't stab it with a spear, you throw the spear while you stand on the branches of a six story tree, or while you're riding a horse (if you have any horses, which cave men admittedly didn't), or standing on top of a really big hill, depending on what is found to be safer.

Spears are big heavy things, and with a good throwing arm they can pierce thick hide like this dinosaur's and then it'll bleed out after a while. While it's bleeding out, it'll get weaker too. Hunting isn't about fighting the monster, it's about getting an animal to die, and to that end, you just need to be smarter than it, and that doesn't take much.

Bravo brother. Something tells me you've said this based on experience. ^_^

You'd make a brilliant monster hunter or an excellent Space Marine if you've got the build for it.

On the same note that's how wolves hunt moose. they surround as a pack and continually bite the moose's anus. Then they just wait for it to bleed to death, without even having to worry about the antlers.

But the size comparison between a moose and wolves isn't even close to being the difference between a 'Rex and some humans. And the moose isn't built to kill; a Tyrannosaurus is. It would gladly retaliate, unlike a moose, which utilizes running as a major form of defense and survival.

The humans in here are wearing factory produced clothes, I'm pretty sure we got this in the bag.
