I blame the original idiot who fucked around with the Tome of the Night Sky's programming and gave it that godawful defense program...and hereby suggest creating a temporal task force to deal with the problem. Any Volunteers?
It actually _can_ be canon in the Battle of Ace's PSP game; which is an AU where they didn't delete Reinforce. After fighting dopplegangers her program created; they manage to stabilize it.
In Reinforce's ending; she mentions how they would have to create a Unison Device for Hayate since they couldn't stop enough degradation to enable Reinforce to link with her.
Hayate starts thinking of names. (IE, this is going to be Reinforce Zwei.)
