I am wondering. Which group most wanted to win on this match?
Personally, I am cheering for Sakuya team after Meiling's loss, even if the underground team has a better reason for winning.

I can see this Scarlet Team winning due to being the underdog. Plus there's the Remi wanting to see Sakuya in the ring side-plot that's easy to see coming.

I'm cheering for the underground team, mostly for Yuugi's outfit.
Nah, I kid. I want Sakuya to lose because it'd a) Be funny and b) Be completely unexpected.

I think Sakuya needs to be humbled.

A win by the Underground Team would hardly be unexpected. But, I do wanna see Sakuya & Suika win. We've already had one non-seed team win.

Sakuya's team is all strategies by Patchy, while underground team is just not giving up... i cant even tell who going to unexpectedly win in this

It could go either way; Sanae's no where nearby let alone in the match. (They should look into fixing the barrier so her miracle powers don't work in it)

Sakuya gets humbled enough in pretty much every other fanart/comic. She's Touhou's buttmonkey, and is even the most common star of it's guro. I say let the maid get some dignity here for a change.

You misspelled Meiling, who did get screwed over in this comic series.

Many characters are portrayed as butt monkeys before Sakuya's name shows up. Reisen, Cirno, Kogasa, Meiling (especially), and a handful of others (to extents) are common victims to jokes and abuse. As far as the guro goes, I couldn't tell you. I tend to ignore that stuff.

I see Tatari is obviously not familiar with the works of Shino...or anything involving Meiling.

I´m hoping for the underground team to win (apparently, it´s not going to surprise anyone if whichever side wins, so...).

I mean, I personally wanted to see Meiling kicking Sakuya´s ass in a later encounter. Now that I can´t have it, let Orin do the job. (Don´t get me wrong, I like Sakuya, but the underground team does have a better reason for winning).

I'm not saying that Touhou doesn't have any other characters with issues(Meiling got a bum deal in this comic even before she got voted off the island against the miracle cheese team, and I would have accepted Sakuya losing to her if the fight was good), but Sakuya being such a recognizable character seems to contribute to her getting an inordinate amount of abuse, and a lot of it being downright more mean-spirited than what others get. She's one of the reasons I can't browse for Touhou on pixiv without all of the filters being on.

Browse Touhou and/or Sakuya with no filters on. You'll see on the first page.

I'm not seeing anything that answers that and I have both R-18 and R-18G enabled. I also don't want to derail this from the main subject much, either.

I kind of want the underground team to win. The whole hated youkai of underground thing, the random beat-down that Yuyuko and Kanako delivered to Satori and co., and the fact that they didn't even get the invitation to the tournament until after registration was closed. I think the undergrounders need a win.

And I don't really see the Scarlet Team as underdogs. Thanks to Patchy's strategies, they've been dominating the fight so far.

Certain artists, such as tajima yuuki have a fondness for Sakuya Guro, and he's not alone. The reasons being either a twisted notion "it's what being a vampire's servant is like", misdirected rage by folks who like characters that Sakuya overshadows, etc.

Sakuya has a rather twisted fanbase. But still in most clean areas, Sakuya is rarely the butt of jokes. Perhaps that's due to how fanon ignores her ditzy side. In contrast, fanon plays up Meiling's sleepiness and makes her imcomptent. (Komachi? that's close to the truth)

Meiling got a short end of the stick in this series.

As far as this match, it could go either way.
