    Au contraire. How can you properly break and bend the laws when you don't even know what they are? A solid grounding in anatomy is useful even for unrealistic figure drawing.

    aye, very true. knowing how to draw realistically is the first step towards sucessfully abstracting and simplifying it. this applies even in fine. do you really think picasso always drew abstract looking shit?
