Wait, I just realized something: If Danmaku is non-lethal, and Sakuya uses knives for her danmaku, doesn't that mean all her knife attacks are non-lethal and explains why China always survives?
I'm pretty sure there was a point where ZUN said that she doesn't actually have all that many knives on her person, but that she periodically stops time and gathers up her thrown knives. Since it happens in stopped time, not even the player can see it happening.

I'd understand that for each run of a spellcard, but that's still a hell of a lot of knives at one time on the screen.

Sakuya also has the power of Time/SPACE manipulation. She's the reason that the SDM has 500 ft ceilings inside of a modest mansion. She could theoretically have Plenty of Armaments De-Sycronized with real space particularly on the torso.
