Contrary to popular belief, she doesn't really have any wings in any of the games. She only has them in her art in Bohemian archive of japanese red. Then, fanon blew it out of proportion. According to touhou wiki, some fans claim that she can turn her wings invisible.

I am for the wings. Most of the animal youkai in Touhouverse have some of the animal traits, which
makes them special and characteristically looking.
Aya without wings is like Ran without ears.

how about that: she can grow and degenerate her wings at will?

You'd think having wings in proportion to you're size would be debilitating in a normal life style
