Maybe it's a division of color thing. From the bottom: Shoes+socks(color)->legs(fleshtone)->Center mass(color)->face(fleshtone)->hair+hat(color)

So they all follow the same pattern like that.

Some name corrections: Haruka and Hikari are not pictured here. It's Sapphire and Platina. Haruka has brown eyes and not sapphire eyes. Platina is known for carrying around that bag.

The artist tagged them as Hikari and Haruka, he also didn't add the Pokemon Special tag. He was going by the character's official Sugimori artwork, which gives Haruka blue eyes, and Hikari that bag.

Leaf >> Haruka = Hikari > all the others girls > Crystal = Kotone

If the tags weren't enough proof.

Funny, the only funny hat I see is Kotone's funny hat.

It's trying to consume the other hats through suction, like Oogie Boogie.

Kotone's grown on me a little bit. And in ways she almost seems to fit more in the region of Johto then Crystal does. Maybe it's just because out of all of them, Crystal stands out the most, and Kotone co-aligns with Gold's look.

Crystal Version definitely wouldn't feel the same without, well, Crystal. That's for sure.

Why do we treat different versions of the same character different? Even with old Reimu Hakurei i believe they still point to Reimu. Cause in the end they're still the same character,just a different version.
