If you look closer, you'll see that there is a small scope mounted at the end of the gun. So she is looking through the sight and into the scope at the end.

That's not a scope, it's the forward sight.

Wasn't it confirmed that Lynette's eyesight was similar to Mio's, that sort of magnified eyesight when focused or something, so she can hit that target from ridiculous distances.
Example would be the 3rd episode's sharpshooting test.

But reason why Lynette and Trude are there.. I have no idea.

I think it was obvious enough that Lynette is targeting Sanya and Eilia out of jealousy..^^
