And just because we didn't need 3 characters who played like Fox. Fox and Wolf was good enough and complement each other as speed vs power. Falco this time was still too much like Fox, just with better moves. Krystal would have been a much better replacement with a totally new design away from Fox.

The point is, Krystal wouldn't have been a Clone character, unlike putting Falco in yet again.
And before someone comes in and tries to 'correct' me, yes Falco isn't a clone. But he's pretty much the closest thing in the Smash Bros series (Luigi, Marth and etc are all much more unique).
