The Venus figurine body archetype is so interesting from an anthropological and psychological angle, an exaggeration defining fertility. The academic zeitgeist doesn’t seem to argue pornography as the reason for the existence of these things, but I don’t know about that. When hentai and erotic writing don’t exist as they do now, what else to do but to make representations of your hot clan member or village baddie? And if one gets caught with it well then hey, it doesn’t actually look like someone specific. Just a theory.
