About the S-curving of the Body
When standing straight, the spine looks like an S-curve,
but viewed from the front, there's still a slight curving sometimes.
To retain the horizontal position from shoulder to the head, the body forms an S-curve by necessity to avoid falling over, .
Therefore, I've always thought that the spine curving from the waist to the fifth vertebrae, and drew it like that, but...
When I touched my own ribs, I felt a considerable movement of my shoulders off of the horizontal position. In short, the spine also curves behind the ribs, until the 12th vertebrae.
This is why I now drew the spine curving behind the ribs, too.
Indeed, it feels more complete, I think.
