Love how the light in his eyes fades away with every subsequent wife

Is there some sort of story here? Fancanon or otherwise. Like, dead wives, divorce, or whatever.

Divorce. Point Flag was notorious for being violent towards Stay Gold, and from what I've read, she didn't treat their son Gold Ship much better.

You mean the emotional neglect?

I love how you can see Stego's clothes change with the wives, eventually reflecting his condition at the end of it.

At first with Oriental Art he doesn't have his goggles and the knife holster straps. Oriental leaves the scene and Dear Wink comes in; he gains his knife holster accessory. De Laroche arrives, he gets his signature goggles. And, at the end of it where he ends up with Point Flag, his clothes end up tattered.

Oh, and you can see the light receding slowly on Stego's figure after Oriental to the point that the only thing that gets highlighted is just the very edge of it because he's absolutely shadowed by Point Flag.

That's a relatively big contrast when compared with the lighting from the time when he was paired with De Laroche, where some of his hair was highlighted and the light came from his back, which spared him from appearing "dominated" by her.
