For the record, there is nothing wrong with self-uploading.
That guideline was removed years ago, and the faster we can kill this way of thinking, the better.
As long someone's art passes the quality guidelines and is properly tagged, whoever uploaded it is completely meaningless.

This phrasing only reinforces the idea that "self-uploading is discouraged", period. It's better to just say "Danbooru is picky as hell. Don't get your hopes up, even if you're genuinely objectively good." Since genuinely good shit gets buried all the time, and tacky shit gets auto-approved because of rank all the time. Nobody's perfect at drawing and approvers/contributors aren't perfect at choosing.
