If the artist continues this, I personally would prefer they don't become romantic interests. Platonic friends at best, or even just mutual, neutral respect. Like, she still doesn't like hanging out with him or being his friend, but she at least respects him. But that's just me speculating on the plot trajectory.

I agree, there's some things you can't take back regardless of your situation. Even if he somehow fixes this for her and she develop real feelings for him, there's no reason for him to trust her again. Mutual respect is the most I'm hoping to see and the two go their separate ways.
I do have to wonder if the daughter truely never realized the connection her family and his family have with each other. She knows her parents work for his parents. But did she really never got the hints that her parents were trying to set her up with him to marry into the family?
Even if she hated him, seems kinda dumb on her part to not realize the signs. I would honestly have to assume her parents over the years also could have gave her "The talk" at times.
Unless her parents were just hoping the 2 kids would naturally develop feelings and they woudln't have to get their daughter in on the "marry into the family" plan on purpose.

From the way she said things to him, I'm more than sure that she didn't just realize but is being constantly egged on by her family which would be a reason why she said she always hated him. She probably was never given the choice even as young as little children to not be his friend. She was probably hoping he didn't develop feelings and met another girl which would explain why she kept up with the charade until he confessed to her.
