I literally just learned that two minutes ago when I saw that some guy called "VR-Man" explained it to me.
I also didn't know that the speed on Japanese car was written with Arabic numbers, but then again, I never really checked. Make me wonder how Japanese people feel about oreign numbers everywhere they look, I'm dead sure they have their own way to write numbers down.

I think that would be like having the words "one", "two", "three" on the tachometer.
They probably feel the same as English people seeing Arabic and Roman numerals. After all, 56% of Americans believe Arabic numerals shouldn't be taught in school.
