As for why Sasuke would had more problems, he would've grew up with a big sister that dotes on him and that is superior to him every way, so male ego, pride and him trying get his father to pay attention is going to bigger effect on him, so it is going to have a nasty combination. (Due to how Patriachal the Uchiha clan is and that the fact the that its a male-dominated ninja world, so Fugaku expectations would be through the roof, where he will be FAR more harsher and colder to Sasuke. So Sasuke would've resented Itachi.) Not to mention him witnessing his sister massacre the entire uchiha and his family is going to be more disastrous to him mentally and emotionally.
