I genuinely cannot comprehend how they ever thought this was possible. The sheer fucking hubris…
If the release version looked anything like the concept art and earliest development builds, then maybe, maybe, maybe it had a fraction of a chance of standing up to Star Wars, or literally any other Sci-fi franchise, or any team shooter, for that matter.
But someone decided it would sell better if it looked as ugly and unoriginal as possible.
