From what I remember Guilliman respects Jonson, but Jonson has some plot related reasons to not be a big fan of Guilliman (I don't remember if there's anything about his exact thoughts on him) along with his usual antisocial behavior.

TL;DR: Jonson is super suspicious/paranoid and worried that Guilliman would try to secede and make his own Imperium during the HH.

And he did with Imperium Secundus, which Jonson only really allowed because Sangy took the head position.

This, in addition it was only out of necessity, because [Huge plot contrivance], Jonson's legion carries on his paranoia though... now they do have a VERY good reason for it.

It's because when Konrad Curze escaped and was like rampaging Macragge, Guilliman's Homeworld, The Lion was being so Paranoid that he was literally suggesting to bomb the planet to dust, which you can imagine does not go well with Guilliman at all

What a very intriguing idea, given Sanguinius is a Perpetual, and whether through regeneration or reincarnation they can always come back.
