  • day 74 without taking her meds:
blondie mistook the sound of an acorn falling on the car for gunshots and it really freaked her out, she rolled around on the floor and ran back home,
she had to skip family therapy that day,
    :(

The more I hear about The United States of Outdated Police Training the less I want to visit there.

Unless you're wealthy, there really much of a reason to visit. Plus, there are much more places to see better outside of the US.

So was this made just due to current events or is it also an expansion to her psyche? Commentary seems to imply the later.

    isn't*(?)
US does have a few cool modern museums. But you need to know exactly what you are looking for and plan carefuly.

Then it couldn't be less of an example of average Americans if it tried.

Only an example of those who are conservative enough to actually seem to want a second civil war, if I'm not mistaken.

I found my cohort in the academy was like witnessing a microcosm of Americans as it had been when I went to university, if that makes any sense. We all passed that initial barrier of entry, but when you observed and interacted with folks you could tell some were meant for law enforcement, with the appropriate mindset, a relevant background, prior extracurricular activity and etc. Likewise you saw people who flinched constantly during defensive tactics, or answered questions in ways that made it clear aspects of their high school education didn't hold for whatever reason.

In any case, while some washed out, you can again think of those that passed through the academy just like graduated university students. Ya got guys who never dealt with people now suddenly working the hot spots on midnights, while high-speed folks end up doing post duty at government buildings because benefits are decent and you don't have to put up with too much.

If I could bring any advice to potential applicants, self awareness of your occupation and it's history is paramount. Like, not screaming so much is such a simple thing to do. Say "stop please," instead of "stop resisting." Or, don't yell at someone to get on the ground after they've been down for a minute already. I dunno.
