You know, seeing the 3kAD Emperor, I kind of want to read a book taking place right at the dawn of human colonization, with the GEoM actually being somewhat naive (or at least, certainly starry-eyed) and optimistic about the future. And with an epilogue taking place right at the start of the Great Crusade with a much more cynical, jaded Big E.
