The answer? NIGHTMARES!
POP! Goes the hamster. My japanese-born coworker always boasted that the instant powdered sushi vinegar, sugar, toasted sesame and baking soda are the ultimate rat poison mix. Mix them together in 1:0.5:2:1 mix, put them into shallow container outside your house (important) and let rats feast on them.
Next morning or so you can see the stray cats playing with the balooned-up rats. Quite funny, really, until they exploded...
