The use of both "vaguely" and "typically" feel out of place here, both grammatically and from a lore perspective. For an English speaker the sentence is a little weird and Vulcan directness would be reinforced if it was boiled down to "I am familiar with this illogical Earth custom." That said, I am completely enamored with the idea of attempting to give a Vulcan valentine chocolates!
