It's not all about the VA, sometimes the direction is shit.
Minase Inori plays excellent unhinged characters like Carol Malus is Symphogear and Reines El-Melloi in El-Melloi Case Files.

Because she's just playing a role. The haughty personality is just a brave front, Furina is something like Nahida but worse since she's 'born' without any power at all.
I'd say the VA was already playing a very good role, but of course that's just my own opinion.
