Looks more like she belongs in Touhou than in Tekken. Not liking where they're going with some character designs.

Let's look at it this way: Tekken is a long-running fighting franchise that's had (aside from "normal" humans) angels, devils, dinosaurs, kangaroos, bears, demons, ogres, and robots for characters up to this point.

So where did those spoked, often fairy-like energy wings originate exactly? It reminds me of Ishigaki's work on Xenogears, but I'm almost certain I've seen earlier examples. I can't remember what they are, though....

Gundams.

It's not so much as her design, but her gameplay and fighting style is what irritates the most "hardcore" Tekken fans.

No, I don't think that's it, so much. Closest I can think of there is the Victory 2 Gundam, but I think this phenomenon came before that.

Vernier type thrusters like that have been in use in the mecha world for quite some time. I imagine they're nearly as old as the real robot genre, itself, from which that particular style of vernier likely emerged.

Her leg boosters remind me of God gundams, the boosters behind her remind me of V2 gundam. She's a candidate for mecha musume.

Seriously, exactly what does she do that sets aside hatred that Jack 'n Bryan Fury haven't already covered? Sure she has some movement advantages but Raven can teleport and Devil Jin can FLY. I can't say I've done anything with her that really feels out of place in Tekken.
