Lmao >Do the usual pompous parade (like last year, pretty much at peak of the war) >"Silly Russians spending money on parades instead of War. Massive L" >Do the "humble" parade, with mostly people and no vehicles that are mostly just for show (like t14) >"Russia brought this on themselves. Massive L"

Gullible fucks, I swear.
You do realize that the whole point of military parades like this are supposed to show off how [insert army hosting the parade] are the bestest EVAR to the world, right?
Actually, what is the precedent of military parades in time of war?
Usually to drum up support and raise morale for the population, show the people the strength of the military and army to keep them from losing hope in the war and from protesting against the war effort.
I’d say in this particular parade, it had the exact opposite effect.
Actually, what is the precedent of military parades in time of war?
Given military parades are kind of propaganda about a nation's military strength, it also serves as 'proof' that 'everything is OK'. In the first place, military parades mimics the act of a country's military force departing to the battlefield, thus proofing said nation's war-readiness in order to calm and encourage their population not to afraid of the coming war.

9th may is celebrated as way to remember and honour times of ww2 and its outcome (Same for Immortal Regiment). That's why there's always T34 coming out first when vehicles roll out. That's why the remaining veterans of ww2 are prime guests of the event. And Russia isn't the only one doing it. For example Prague has a parade where they let the US army parade themselves, because they were the ones that freed Prague during WW2. And so on.
And if you are talking "Bestest EVAR", there were plenty of tech that's important for that, the ones that act as "Equalizer" in our days. I am speaking of ICBM launchers.
"Opposite Effect" kek Actually looking at the reactions of ye average folk, seems like they are more pleased with this parade, then the last one. Younger generation thinks this parade is a waste of time and money. And even if it's important to remember, there are more sensible ways to celebrate it. And people like you here, like flies, will find shit everywhere they go, if need be.
Honestly, a little ashamed of myself here, debating some random proles who talk out of their ass, who would probably have issues pointing out any European country on the map. Boredome is a bitch, I guess. Years come, it will be interesting thing to remember though.

I'm sure showing off a top of the line MBT or two at that parade would have been a good statement to show they have something to counter the Leopards and Challengers (as well as the captured Russian armor) in Ukraine, or at least to show they still have reserves, but alas there were none so can you really say that the Russians are doing totally fine, unless you're trying to be the 2020s version of Baghdad Bob?

You'd think someone taking a pro-Russia position would be the last person to use "proles" as a derogatory term. Like, you do know where that word comes from, right?
Pah, you westoids are such fools! You DO realize that the T-34 is the tank that defeated the decadent fascist west, right? Oooh, when this thing rolls through the capital of the Belgorod People's Republic, punching through all the Motherland's enemies along the way, you'll be sorry!
Seriously though, everything about this massively stupid affair, from the initial days of the VDV airdropping without support to the insurgents rampaging through Belgorod, the RuAF has gone from the second-best army in the world to being the second-best army in Russia- and that's fucking hilarious!

fr dude. mfs be like "LOL they only have ONE T-34???? CRINGE!!!!" Do any of these people realize these tanks are over 80 years old? Russia bought all the T-34s from the Laos a few years back, the parts for these things aren't exactly available anymore.
Remind me how the Russian Army was supposed to roflstomp the Ukranians in a matter of days, and yet for some reason here we are two years later with the Moskva sunk, the Russians nowhere near achieving their military goals (and scaring Sweden and Finland into joining NATO), and also being sanctioned out of the western economy in the process?

Accurate observation? You both must have had your heads buried in the sand for a long time. The Russians themselves had quite literally set the expectation it'd only be a matter of days when they invaded with practically no supplies or logistical support set in place. You don't do that unless you expect a quick and easy victory.
