This is an interesting idea of battle of human like pokemon and pokemon like trainers.
If the pokemon lore is canon, that was once a time pokemon and ppl were equals, this idea is not too far off.

One of the movies in BW2's PokeStar Studio is about this, a future where Pokemon train humans for battle.
