IIRC, that's fanon because Toriyama never explained how Yamcha and Bulma's relationship actually ended.

Didn't Trunks tell Goku that Yamcha wasn't faithful in chapter 335, and that's why Bulma broke up with him? Though regardless of that fact, everyone agrees that how Toriyama handled it was bullshit, from the fans to the anime's voice actors. As MistareFusion put it, it's quite literally character assassination.

Ohhhh, so Yamcha suddenly became a pimp daddy playa man. Yeah, that makes perfect sense. Totally explains why he never found anybody else, why he ended up all alone with only Puar to keep him warm at night after Bulma flushed his ass down the memory sewer.

Although, I don't really blame Yamcha for cheating on Bulma, even if it was only for one night. I don't know how it played out in the manga but in the anime, Bulma was already getting the hots for Vegeta before she broke up with Yamcha. And, when Yamcha rose from the dead at the end of the Namek saga, Bulma reacted as if she was greeting a casual, platonic boyfriend on his return trip at the goddamn airport. Instead of, you know. The love of her life coming back from the dead?

It depends on the translation, but he never outright says he cheated on her. He uses a lot of euphemisms that amount to "wasn't wholly invested in a relationship with her".

The outright confirmation of cheating is a misconception due to Abridged.
