Holy crap, Nahida stood up to Dottore, a man whose power rivals gods, and she knew she stood no chance against him. But she looks positively terrified here.

Well, the Unknown God is hinted at being a multiversal being so it transcends more traditional gods. Makes sense for Nahida to be freaking out over something that may have more prominence than her very reality.

There's several problems with this hypothesis though.
1: Nahida doesn't inherit the full knowledge stored in Irminsul due to Rukhadevata isolating the ones related to Forbidden Knowledge within herself. Therefore if Paimon was [REDACTED] she won't even know.
2: After Nahida deleted Rukha from Irminsul's repository and Dottore's clone appearing we all know that even the data within Irminsul can be tampered deleted or even entered incorrectly, such as why our sibling got recorded as being a 'native of Teyvat' and there's no data about Dottore's clones existing within it. Meaning if Paimon WAS the Unknown God, there needs to be someone to with enough clearance who survives the Khan'eriah incident to enter that information in Irminsul. Rukhadevata didn't participate in Khan'eriah, hence there's no way Nahida can know what happened there.

We still don't know if Paimon is the Heavenly Principles in a sleeping state, I know its fan art, but the idea of her being something worse is...Unnerving.
What everyone else thinks she's thinking about: [DIABOLICAL STUFF]
What I think she's actually thinking: "It was me, Lumine. I spent all the Mora on food because you won't stop calling me Emergency Food!"
Though hearing her use first person pronouns would kinda be terrifying in of itself.
I mean, a popular thought is that she is a fragment of the god. Not the full thing.
I hold back any opinions on what she is though since knowing the company that made this game she could just as well be intended to be killed during a dramatic story moment for maximum emotional impact.
Sure, she can be annoying, but I doubt people will enjoy the lack of her companionship after doing that part in the story. Whether she remains dead though? No clue.
I just hope she doesn't actually betray the traveller. With Kirby, I've had my fill of "cute sidekick is actually the secret lovechild of Hitler and Satan, and will shank your arse with a rusty blade". But seeing how she's integrated in the UI, I really doubt that'll every happen. You might object that Genshin Impact makes little sense in general (like, the Traveller's ability to turn into another character is never touched upon, explained, or even referred to, she's treated like she's alone), but Paimon... I dunno, I don't see it. Big doubt.
