Sad to see the "loli=irl pedo/abuse" puritanism is so widespread these days. I don't blame Calli, because if I were in her position I wouldn't want to torpedo my career with the very strong feelings it brings out in English-language spaces (maybe western in general, idk). It'll die down eventually, I hope.

Hopefully people will realize that, as with violent media, the evidence of it propelling people to commit crimes (shootings, murders, rape) is nebulous at best, and trying to restrict these medias as outlets for entertainment and pleasure is dangerous, since it can be an outlet of emotion for some who would otherwise be predisposed to commit a crime (such as a mass shooting, or a rape).

Social media is more damaging to people's emotional state than any anti-pedo sentiment. Being reviled and hated is one thing, but not being allowed to defend yourself and your ideas is worse. Everything becomes a struggle session, the sole purpose of which is to crush the outlier and bring everyone else in line while it's done. Hurting others does in fact hurt oneself, and being part of a group doesn't mitigate it at all. It might even make it worse, because on some level, you understand the one being attacked could very easily be you.

So people become more vicious, because attacking is preferable to being attacked. It gives the illusion of control, when in reality the compulsion to attack indicates anything but.

It's human sacrifice, plain and simple. And it's scary how effective is and gives terrible insight into why such things happened historically and keep happening. It *does things* to people, makes them feel better for some reason, even though the only thing to be had is a corpse...and only one if you're lucky.
