[Spoiler Alert] Please only watch if you have completed Xenoblade Chronicles 3
I'm writing this under the assumption that anyone reading this caption has completed Xenoblade Chronicles 3. I've already warned about spoilers numerous times.
There are many uncertainties surrounding this image, or rather, this information, so I've incorporated a fair amount of my own imagination into my drawing.
Based on the ending and post-game events of Xeno 3, it's clear:
- It's highly likely that the original Mio is Rex and Nia's daughter.
- Rex married each of the three Homhikanias.
Looking at the last photo, it's clear that Nia and Rex have a child together, but based on the photo alone, we can't be certain that the baby is Mio.
However, as is clear from Nia and Mio's conversation during Nia's Hero Quest, the way Nia treats Mio is like she's talking to a long-lost daughter. Even the tone of voice she uses when calling Mio's name at the end is like a mother calling her child.
One uncertain factor:
- Over a thousand years have passed since Aionion's birth, so are the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 members still alive?
-> In this case, there's no way they could be alive if we consider the simple passage of time. However, if the Xenoblade Chronicles 2 world, which was frozen in time after defeating Mobius, begins to move again, it seems possible that they're still alive. In fact, Nia also hints at the survival of her teammates at key points, saying things like, "You guys will be in the future..." I really hope they don't end up with everyone dead when Nia and Hana return to the original world...
As Rex and Nia's daughter, I want to see Mio grow up surrounded by Homuhika's love. I can't help but fantasize that the opening of the additional story will begin with Mio's birth... Of course, Homuhika's child will be treated as a sibling, so I'm curious to see how that will play out. (I'm guessing the first of the new heroes will be Hana in Aionion mode, and the second will be a Home/Hicane child.)
Looking back, it seems like Mio's appearance and personality strongly reflect elements of Rek, Home/Hicane, and Nia.
Rek → Eye color
Nia → Cat features, man-eater features, handling of twin rings, sensitivity to cold → sensitivity to heat
Hom → Hairstyle, speech, cooking skills
Hicane → Fashion sense, calling a close lover "kimi," M's hairstyle
This may be a bit far-fetched, but in the timeline where the worlds haven't fused, Mio would grow up in this kind of environment, so it's only natural that she'd be influenced... right?
Xeno 3 ended on a bitter note, uncharacteristic of Xenoblade, so I hope they can somehow redeem her in the new story. As I mentioned before, I'm personally a fan of Mio, so I'd like to see more of her relationship with the Xeno 2 characters, but a true happy ending would only be one where Noah, Yuni, Lanz, Senna, and Tion are all reunited. Monolith Soft, please continue the story in a way that doesn't leave anyone unhappy. (Please don't make it like Fukkoa...) Also, Melia is so pitiful compared to Nia and the others who are so happy, so please help her out somehow...
