We like to describe Danbooru as an anime art gallery that happens to allow porn, but the truth is that the majority of the userbase simply regards it as a porn site, and this is reflected in post scores. I wouldn't worry about it too much, because score is largely a meaningless metric anyway.

I am fully aware that danbooru is a glorified porn site at this point (who isn't?) but seriously, couldn't these porn addicts acquire some standards and favorite some actually decent looking porn?

At least you can be grateful the mods are good about removing this sort of stuff from the main site, as they've done here. You can always remember to flag images you believe are too low quality to be on the main gallery as well.
