Umm... Shinzo Abe isn't Prime Minister either, and Angela Merkel is stepping down, too. Boris Johnson doesn't seem like he has much time left, either, with collapsing support. Putin is technically swapping official positions with Medvedev, although he's de facto dictator for life. Macron is still president without qualifiers, though.

... Also, why recent-ish leaders instead of the ones around in World War 2, since that's what KanColle revolves around? You can't think of anything but these guys?

The first time he did that, I remember some particularly brave foreign journalist asked him, in effect, "Why go to all the trouble to pretend it's constitutional? Why not just declare yourself president-for-life and get it over with?" Putin's reply, if the translation and my memory can be trusted, was very elliptical, but basically boiled down to, "It's funnier this way."

I have to admit, I have a certain grudging respect for that attitude. If a man's going to be a real-life Bond villain, he should at least own it.
