Masamune Shirow's life tells a sad story of how a decent artist with decent (if somewhat incoherent and hard to follow) plots can turn into a horrible failure unable even to execute proper hentai art. Maybe it's a divine punishment for that retarded romanisation of his name or something.
I think he just got so rich on the GitS franchise that he doesn't need to work any more, so he spends his time drawing poor hentai that fits his weird tastes. In particular, he seems to have decided that hips are out and oily slime is in; compare post #84501 with post #82574... *facepalm*

Dont get me wrong, I like Masamunes pictures, they are something different from most of the hentai artists' works. But the lack of HIPS!!! I usually like really wide hips, so the total lack of hips is really disturbing. Like post #205040 (hope thats how the links are made) look at the brownish naked girl. just remove the already smaller than usual Masamune breasts and add a penis on her and you have a bishounen, a girly boy every anime fangirl loves to death.
I'm afraid I agree with Animeboy. Masamune Shirow, however poor his name, taste, or choices of themes are, he's an amazing artist and we're privelaged to share his visions. I'm sure someone told picasso "That's not where the vagina goes!" - *cough* and if you mention that I was quick in comparing Shirow to a legitimate artist, Piccasso was also not a legitimate artist in HIS time. Thank you.
He's going for a cartoonish version of that long limbed lanky girl look. It's not a common look in Japan or even the US. You see it more in eastern Europe, Korea and some Chinese girls. Check out tik tok for plenty of examples.
