Basically, it doesn't make sense if the lamia part isn't filled with organs, too, and it basically needs to have something like a second heart like a real snake just to keep blood flowing all the way to the tail. When you already have a large intestine that can be a looong large intestine, you might as well throw that and all the things like liver and kidneys into the snake part, and make the human portion just be the upper torso organs, like the lungs and primary heart. (For those who like to overthink fantasy fizziks...) It also makes sense, if they're meant to mate with humans, to also not be creepy or repulsive to humans, and hence have a vagina up front where it would be on a human woman, even if the anus and even the urethra are on the other end of the snake side.
The problem here is mostly that it definitely seems to cut too far into the body, to the point it looks like there could be nothing but a spine behind that.
