Why are so many new comments immediately downvoted? Is there some ugly femcel raging on this site?

No it's because danbooru's user base is a pms hive mind and sometimes just collectively down votes comments because they don't like it

We have thousands of users, most of whom lurk. 1 or 2 downvotes is not a representation of the entire user base.

People mistaken that danbooru is some twitter or facebook page where commenting nonsense is okay.

If anything, most of the users seems to hate basic comments or one liners like "Love it.", "Like it.", "Like". "Cute." (depends on picture, active users at the time and their mood, and the user who post that comments.) I myself feels that such comments are needless - but i won't downvote it.

Also, it seems some of the users will look at the comment histories of that user - raging horndogs and one-liners repeat offenders sometimes would get downvoted no matter what by some because of it. ESPECIALLY the raging horndogs, those [hidden] and deleted comments doe...

Add history and military buffs, gun nuts, zoologist, chemist, medical practitioner, gamer, linguist, illustrator, culinary buff, law scholar, and many more. Those comments are rare, but GOLD when you find them.
