    As a member of the modern military, I lament how uniform designs like this is a lost art. Still, I also am glad we're past these uniforms because I'd hate to see how much those uniform items cost like all those trimmings, sash, sword, hat plume, etc.

    I mean I can't give any data or research to back this, but considering 19th century - Early 20th century militaries seemed to fit entire conscript armies in this/similar sort of fashion, I'd figure the uniforms wouldn't contribute that much to potentially bankrupting a force.

    WWI taught everyone that dressing like this only make you a bigger target to the enemy. If you want to dress up, join the ceremonial guards or something.
