No, it doesn't look like a brain; the edges are too rough. I'm guessing it's bauxite which IRL does have dusty-red coloration.

But it certainly is strange, since we see Miyamori around a pastry that isn't a doughnut.

Myamori does appear near chocolates too so it should be safe to say she doesn't survive on doughnuts alone.
