For those out of the loop:
Vitalina Batsarashkina won 2 gold medals and a silver medal during the Olympics in shooting events, which she became a viral hit due to how cool she look where she used one hand to fire her handgun while her other hand was in her pocket.

However some smartass mansplainers, possibly Americans, decided to criticize how dumb her shooting stance is since she will break her right arm from recoil due to holding her gun with only one hand. But mansplainers got humiliated when others point out the guns used in these events are 10mm air pistols, (meaning no strong recoil) and all competitors are supposed to shoot their handgun with one hand only.

Why are they restricted from a two-hand grip?

Apparently, she's also an anime/ero-cosplay fan, so that's fun.

    Because those are the rules.
More seriously, while I have limited experience, official shooting here for pistols is Air/.22 with a single outstreched hand at 10m.
Especially because it is very difficult and requires you to both get good, and be patient so that you can lay of the trigger until the standard drift your hand is just perfect for making the shot.
Of course getting real good does improve your ROF because you'll get really good at getting the drift to be where it needs to be.

At the range where I had my very limited experience(which used .22), I was told its not unusual in competitions to only fire once every 20~25 minutes even for good shooters.

Hell, until after WW2 everyone fired pistols one handed. Unless you're shooting a huge caliber gun like a 500 magnum, or you have wrist damage you won't have any issues firing a pistol one handed.

The fact they think her arm will break from recoil shows they don't know anything about what they are talking about.

Speaking of which, here is a photo of Eric and Wilhelm Carlberg shooting pistol at Stockholm 1912 Olympics one handed with the other in their pockets. (Ignore the photo is uploaded on 9gag)

The reason some air pistol shooters put their offhand in a pocket is so they can be in a relaxed stance as much as possible, as a stiff muscle causes for jittery movement and thus will throw your aim off.

I've shot air pistols for a bit, got 2nd place in a local university-level competition event, but that's about it. It's been a decade since, but it seems things haven't changed that much.

Two handed shooting stances are for combat shooting. Thus the recoil can be compensated for quick fire. Precision is of lesser importance. Target shooters almost always use one hand, standing sideway to the target. This enables them to have an optimal line of sight along the outstretched arm. Recoil throwing the gun out of the sighting line doesn't matter, because the rate of fire also doesn't.

The same Fudds who'd go 'She can't use a 9mm glock lets get her a .357 snubnosed instead'

.357 snubnoses are typically made of steel instead of the lighter aluminum-framed .38 snubnoses. Plenty of fudds still recommend carrying a .357 snub with .38 specials, since the two cartridges are one-way interchangable. That combo will recoil considerably less than .38 in an aluminum frame. There is some validity to it, but with how reliable and soft shooting modern 9mm sub-compacts are, it's still pretty fudd-y. The M&P Shield and P365 are downright pleasant to shoot versus snappy snubnoses.
