I think she re-opened it, with Yukikaze on staff to try to deter Warspite from bankrupting it, only to get powercrept by Souya's 155 luck.

I just love Honolulu’s design. She may not be of visible Hawaiian descent, but she does look like a girl who you would find sun-bathing or surfing on a Hawaiian beach. (In an anime, at least.)

I have to confess; I'm kind of disappointed we didn't get a scene of Darth Lulu getting purified. I wanted to see Yamato broadside her with pineapples and spam.

She's supposed to be from Brooklyn...not just because of her class name, she was built there too.

She describes herself as being born in Brooklyn and raised in Hawaii, uses Hawaiian words - "Aloha" is basically her catch phrase- and her abyssal form wears hibiscus, the state flower of Hawaii.

From what I could understand of his tweet, he only briefly got out of his break because he liked Souya so much he had to draw some pages of her (1) Soviet connection and thus Tashkent joke and (2) ridiculous luck beyond even YKKZ.

So I'm holding the optimistic hope that when he's fully recharged and back proper, he'll draw more pages about clearing the event and the obligatory purification.

I thought it seemed like he was coming back from hiatus pretty early.

Oh well, I can be patient.

Which is funny, because she spent more time training around the USA proper than anywhere else, and at other times was posted at ports all over the Pacific and Arctic, only spending about a year at Pearl. All told, her designated port of call was rarely ever Hawaii. Granted, in that year at Pearl she would have had very few duties and her crew would have been on shore leave most of the time.
