That apparently heavily depends on their diet.

Apex predators are at the top of the energy conversion pyramid, so farming them is inherently expensive. One would need to keep a whole cattle farm just to be able to sustain a handful of lions. The final cost of producing farmed lion meat is probably too expensive compared to alternative methods like poaching them from the wild.
