    PCが壊れるタイミングは電源投入時と切断時が多いので仕方ないですねー。
    これが怖いのでメインマシンとサーバーマシンは24時間つけっぱです。

    Hang in There, Kogasa-san 3735

The timing of PC breakdowns is often when the power is turned on or off, so there's not much one can do. Out of fear of this, I leave my main machine and server machine turned on around the clock.

Did he check to see if the power supply cables got unseated during the transfer? How about the RAM?

And the graphics card, and the PSU, and the heat-sink... Didn't there used to be a thing of screwing down the motherboard before moving ?

Oddly enough I have found the most fragile elements to be the SATA connectors and the USB system...

Yet unless you drop a drive, most shut-downs resolve themselves with time.

Back in the late 80s and early 90s where computers were still rather expensive, my dad would give me hell if I left the computer on after being done with it.

Power management in the BIOS and operating system were practically non-existent and processors did not have today's gimmicks like smart fan control or Intel SpeedStep or AMD CnQ, so the PC would burn electricity merrily while slowly killing themselves from the heat caused by running at their max clocks speeds even when idling.

Okay, let's have the PCs transferred to the new place!
    2 Machines
    Click
    Shutting Down
    Tikka Tikk
    At the new house...
    Okay, set-up is all done!
    Power on!
    Silence
    .... They're broken...
All I did was have them transferred...
